Stove Maintenance Tips
Smooth, glass stove tops need to be cleaned with a scratch-free pad and a special cooktop protectant should be applied.
Make sure to use pots and pans that are deep enough to prevent boil-overs and splattering. Do not fill up your pots too high. Minimizing the chance of spilling will reduce cleanup work, also helping prolong the life of your stove.
Clean up any spill with a damp sponge or paper towel as soon as possible, being careful not to burn yourself. Wipe down the stovetop after every use to ensure it keeps clean.
Regularly clean the stove parts. Wash the burner drip plates and other removable accessories, except for electric burner coils, in the sink or by running them in the dishwasher (ensure the owner’s manual for the stove says they are dishwasher safe). Carefully remove the control-panel knobs and clean around the bases. Wash the knobs in hot, soapy water, the rinse, and dry before replacing them.
