Dryer Maintenance Tips

Always clean the lint screen after a load

Not only does cleaning the lint out help the dryer run more efficiently, but it also can cause air restriction that can be extremely dangerous. Make sure to always clean lint after every cycle, and vacuum the filter chute one time every season.

Vacuum the inside of the dryer

At least once a year you should vacuum the lint build-up out of the dryer. You should also purchase replacement filters to ensure your dryer always has proper air flow.

Check the outside vent cap

Regularly check the dryer’s vent cap outside to ensure that it has proper air flow. Remove snow build-up, leaves, dirt and shrubbery from the exhaust area. Carbon monoxide can build-up and pose a health threat to everyone inside the building.

Monitor cycles for a change in dry time

How old the dryer is should not have an effect on drying time. If the dryer is taking longer to dry clothes thoroughly, it could mean the vent is clogged. Clean out equipment as soon as possible.
