Commercial Fridge Repair in Toronto
Two questions answer most of a commercial fridge fault in Toronto: is the unit running, and is it holding. Running and not holding is capacity or airflow. Not running is electrical. That split decides where the first hour goes.
Call (647) 483-3777 Book a repairWhat We Check on a Commercial Fridge in Toronto
Where the Unit Sits
Clearance to walls and millwork, adjacent heat sources and ambient temperature at the unit during service.
Loading
Product stacked against the coil, above the shelf line, or loaded in warm.
Door Use
How often it is opened, and whether anything holds it open during prep.
Coil Condition
Condenser and evaporator, inspected before any refrigerant work is discussed.
Drain
Blockage, route and standing water inside the cabinet.
Electrical
Contactors, relays, start components and protection devices.
What We Find Most Often
Condenser blanketed in kitchen air. Grease and dust on the coil raise head pressure. Run time climbs first, temperature follows only when the room gets warm.
Gasket no longer sealing. A gap the width of a finger runs continuously and frosts one corner of the cabinet first.
Evaporator fan slowing. Uneven cabinet temperature and localised frost rather than a uniformly warm box.
Set point changed on the floor. A control adjusted months ago by someone in the kitchen explains more warm cabinets than most owners expect.
Blocked drain. Standing water inside the cabinet is a drain question long before it is a refrigeration question.
Why the Symptom Is Not the Diagnosis
The same warm reading can come from door sealing, loading, airflow, frost, defrost operation, drainage, heat rejection, a control or the refrigeration circuit. Each of those is a different repair at a different cost.
Measurements and the equipment sequence come before a recommendation, not after it.
What Helps Before We Arrive
- What the cabinet holds and what it is supposed to hold.
- Whether the problem is constant or only later in the day.
- Whether frost or water is visible, and where.
- Whether anyone has already worked on it.
How a Service Call Runs in Toronto
- Establish the timeline. When the room started drifting, what changed around that time and whether anyone has worked on it since.
- Measure, do not estimate. Set point against actual temperature, at more than one point in the room.
- Work from cheap to expensive. Door, curtain, loading and airflow before controls, and controls before the refrigeration circuit.
- Check the drain. Trap, route and heater, because water and ice on the floor are usually a drain question.
- Test the operating sequence. Contactors, sensors, defrost and the components that have to act in order.
- Explain the finding. What was measured, what it means, and what happens if the repair is deferred.
