Dukers Commercial Refrigeration Repair
CooperFix services Dukers commercial refrigeration in small kitchens, takeout counters and convenience retail across Toronto and the GTA. This equipment often works in confined spaces with limited clearance, and a large share of the faults we find trace back to how and where the unit was installed rather than to the unit itself.
Dukers builds upright refrigerators and freezers, undercounter and worktop cabinets, refrigerated preparation tables, glass door merchandisers and back bar units. Installation position and ventilation are assessed alongside the equipment on every call.

Upright Refrigerators and Freezers
Solid door storage cabinets with a self-contained condensing section, in single and double widths.
Undercounter Cabinets
Low-height units built into a counter run, where the intake and discharge air path is the first thing checked.
Sandwich and Salad Prep Tables
Refrigerated base with a chilled rail, measured as two separate temperatures.
Glass Door Merchandisers
Display cabinets where door heaters, lighting and fan operation are assessed together.
Worktop Cabinets
Low units used as a work surface, frequently loaded with heat from equipment placed on top.
Back Bar Units
Bottle coolers in bar lines with restricted ventilation and constant door use.
Dukers Faults We See Most Often
Unit boxed into cabinetry. A cabinet installed tight against a wall or enclosed in millwork recirculates its own warm air and slowly loses capacity.
Heat from adjacent equipment. A refrigerated unit next to a cooking line or under a heated surface is working against a load that no repair removes.
Condenser fouling in small kitchens. Confined rooms load a coil quickly. The cleaning interval has to match the room, not the manual.
Door gasket and hinge wear. Doors worked constantly in a small space lose their seal early, and the frost starts at one corner.
Drain blockage. Standing water inside the cabinet usually means the drain, not the refrigeration circuit.
Why the Symptom Is Not the Diagnosis
A warm Dukers cabinet can come from installation position, ventilation clearance, adjacent heat, door sealing, condenser condition, a fan, a sensor or the refrigeration circuit. On this equipment the installation is examined before the refrigeration side, because that is where the fault most often is.
Each of those leads to a different repair and a different cost. Measurements and the equipment sequence come before a recommendation, not after it.
What Helps Before We Arrive
- Model and serial number from the data plate.
- The temperature the unit is set to and the temperature it is actually showing.
- When the change started and whether anything else changed at the same time.
- Whether the unit is running continuously, cycling, or not starting.
How a Dukers Service Call Runs
- Identify the unit. Model, serial, application, set point and recent temperature history.
- Assess the installation. Clearance to walls and millwork, intake and discharge paths, adjacent heat sources, ambient temperature.
- Review the cabinet. Doors, hinges, gaskets, loading, visible frost or standing water.
- Check airflow and heat rejection. Condenser condition, fans and the route air takes in and out of the unit.
- Test controls and electrical operation. Set point, sensors, measured temperatures and the components in the sequence.
- Report before repair. What was measured, what it means and what the repair involves.
