Terms of Service
These terms apply to commercial and industrial refrigeration services provided by CooperFix in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, and to the use of this website. Last updated August 2026.
1. Who We Are and What We Do
CooperFix provides diagnosis, repair, installation, service and preventive maintenance for commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment. We do not sell equipment or parts online, and this website is not a store. Nothing on this site is an offer of sale.
We work on commercial and industrial refrigeration only.
2. Booking a Service Call
A service call is confirmed by phone or email. A request submitted through a form on this site is a request, not a confirmed appointment, until we confirm it back to you.
You are responsible for providing safe access to the equipment at the agreed time, and for telling us about any site condition that affects safe work.
3. Service Call Fee, Diagnosis and Quotes
A service call fee of $165 plus HST applies. It covers travel to your site, inspection of the affected equipment and a diagnosis of the condition. It is charged whether or not a repair is authorized, because the diagnosis is the work.
Repair labour and parts are quoted separately after the diagnosis. Work beyond the diagnosis is carried out only after you approve it.
A quote is based on the condition found at the time of inspection. If the equipment is opened and a further fault is found, we stop and re-quote rather than continue without your approval.
4. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancellation terms are set out in full on our Cancellation Policy page and form part of these terms.
5. Warranty
Parts and labour supplied by CooperFix carry a limited warranty. The warranty covers the specific part supplied and the specific work performed. It does not cover a different fault, a fault in another component, damage from misuse, power events, lack of cleaning, or work performed by others.
Manufacturer warranty terms apply to manufacturer-supplied parts and may differ from ours.
6. Refrigerant Handling and Compliance
Refrigerant work is performed by a certified refrigeration mechanic. Where regulations require recovery, handling or documentation of refrigerant, we follow them, and we will not perform work that would require us not to.
7. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the attendance unless other terms are agreed in writing beforehand. Invoices set out the service call fee, parts and labour separately.
8. Limits of Responsibility
We are responsible for the work we perform. We are not responsible for product loss, business interruption or consequential loss arising from equipment failure, except where the loss is caused by our own negligence and to the extent Ontario law makes us responsible.
Refrigeration equipment can fail without warning. Where product value is significant, we recommend temperature alarms and a documented contingency plan. We will tell you plainly when equipment is at risk; acting on that is the operator’s decision.
An emergency call means a request is received and assessed around the clock. It is not a guaranteed arrival time.
9. Your Information
Information you send us through this website or by phone is used to arrange and perform service, to invoice, and to keep service records. We do not sell it. Service records are kept because equipment history matters when the same unit is attended again.
10. This Website
Content on this site is provided for information. Equipment descriptions, diagnostic explanations and article content are general and do not replace an on-site diagnosis of your equipment.
Brand names and logos shown on this site belong to their owners and appear to indicate equipment we service. We are not an authorised dealer or agent of any manufacturer unless stated.
11. Changes and Governing Law
We may update these terms. The current version is the one on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms: call (647) 483-3777 or use the contact page.
