Glass-door merchandisers open all day and sit under lighting. The condenser at the bottom pulls in floor dust and the coil clogs; the anti-sweat heater circuit and the lighting draw add load; the evaporator ices when the fan slows. Head pressure is compared against the air at the condenser, the evaporator and condenser fans are tested, the charge is checked and the failed part is repaired. Merchandisers placed next to heat-producing equipment or in direct sunlight lose capacity while an identical unit elsewhere runs normally — the mechanic separates that from a fault by measurement.
Back-bar and underbar coolers run in heat and steam, packed tight, opened constantly. Their small condensing units overheat first: high head pressure, a compressor cycling on its overload, a start relay that finally fails. The mechanic tests start components and measures head pressure and condensing temperature, and repairs what the heat has damaged. Draught systems and keg coolers are serviced as refrigeration: the cooler, its coil and its controls.

The air entering the condenser is measured against the room, and that shows whether it is clearance or a component. A clearance problem is reported as clearance; a component is repaired.
