Walk-In Freezer Installation
CooperFix installs commercial walk-in freezer systems across Toronto and the GTA: condensing unit, evaporator, refrigerant piping, electrical connection, controls and commissioning. Panels and door hardware are set up so the room holds its low-temperature set point from day one.
Installation begins with the room you actually have. Available space, condensing unit location, power supply, drainage route and the product you plan to hold all decide what the system needs to be.
Refrigerant work is performed by a 313A Certified Refrigeration Mechanic.

What a Walk-In Freezer Installation Covers
System Selection
Capacity is matched to room volume, insulation, door traffic and product load rather than to a catalogue number. An undersized system never catches up; an oversized one short-cycles.
Piping and Electrical
Suction and liquid lines are routed and insulated for low-temperature duty. Electrical is connected to code and the controller is wired for defrost and alarm.
Commissioning
The room is pulled down, superheat and subcooling are measured, defrost timing is set and the finished readings are recorded before handover.
Low Temperature Changes the Details
- Defrost strategy has to be set for the room, not left at default
- Drain lines need heat trace so condensate does not freeze in the pipe
- Door heaters and sweeps matter more than in a cooler
- Suction lines carry more insulation than a medium-temperature run
- Pull-down is slower and has to be verified, not assumed
What You Get on Handover
A written record of the installed equipment, measured operating conditions, set point, defrost settings and any conditions found on site.
If the room is part of a larger kitchen or production build, we coordinate the sequence with your contractor so the freezer is commissioned once and not disturbed afterwards.
Who This Is For
Restaurants, grocery and specialty retail, bakeries, butchers, caterers, commissaries, food production and institutional kitchens adding or replacing a low-temperature room in Toronto and the GTA.
